By the time many of our community members arrive at Rembrandt Assisted Living, most require some degree of health and well-being monitoring. Rembrandt Assisted Living provides custom meal consultation and preparation services. By catering to the personal needs of each and every one of our residents we make Rembrandt Assisted Living feel like home.
Meet The Owners
René Willems | Owner & Operator
Born and bred in Holland, René immigrated to NYC in his twenties. He met his Canadian wife while traveling the world and has two teenaged sons. His spare time is dedicated to his family, the outdoors, camping, hiking, fishing, riding his motorcycle and running marathons. René has conquered many obstacles in his life, some by choice such as the Great Wall of China Marathon, some not by choice such as beating cancer. This has prepared him well to deal with anything life puts in his way.
René has been a licensed Physical Therapist in Holland, Germany, NY and VA with over 30+ years of experience and also served in the Royal Dutch Airforce as an Air Traffic Controller. The last 20 years René has worked solely with senior citizens in their private homes and ALFs. This has made him an expert in recognizing the physical and psychological needs of the ageing population and is well aware that ageism has become rampant in our society. René is dedicated to serving senior citizens and providing them with a safe and comfortable place to live their lives to the end with dignity and respect.
As a RALS™ (Residential Assisted Living Specialist), René has earned the highest level of professional certification in the industry.
Jenna Peel | Co-owner
Originally from Canada, Jenna is a graduate of Western University and Georgian College and has been a TV producer for more than 20 years. She has traveled the world for work and pleasure and met her husband René in a cave in Turkey. Jenna and René have shared their passion for running and traveling by completing half and full marathons in amazing places such as Antarctica and China.

Jenna is also a Haute Cuisine graduate and considers cooking to be her passion. Needless to say, our Rembrandt residents will be spoiled. She has owned and operated a B&B in Newfoundland and for many years, was an Airbnb SuperHost in Toronto. Her background in the culinary and hospitality fields along with her lifestyle motto, “Home is where the Heart is’’, makes her the perfect operating partner with her husband René, for Rembrandt Assisted Living.

Any spare time left, you can find Jenna hiking with her family, training for half marathons or growing vegetables in her garden.
